LIKE JOB – Poem by Youlika K. Masry

 In memoriam A.M.

I have lost it all

—love, home, homes, loves—

in trickling awareness.

Indeed, I wasn’t there

when You laid the foundations

of the earth.

Now I build myself a dwelling with a view

on Your cornerstone

—doors, windows, fences, walls…

From wherever You enter

to slay me

mine eye seeth Thee.
